EverNorth Wealth Advisory is a financial planning practice operated as a sole proprietorship by David Wiitala.
EverNorth does not manage investment portfolios, does not provide investment advice, and is not registered as a dealer or adviser under applicable Canadian securities legislation.
David Wiitala is licensed in Ontario for the sale of life insurance, and is regulated in that capacity by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA).
EverNorth does not provide tax or legal advice. Tax filing and legal drafting remain with your own accountant and lawyer.
EverNorth Wealth Advisory operates as a member practice of the CANi Financial Planning Syndicate Inc., with compliance oversight provided through Ironshield Financial Planning.
Where a plan calls for investment management, that management is provided by firms independent of EverNorth, under their own agreements with you and subject to their own registration and regulation. Where a plan calls for insurance, contracts are issued by licensed Canadian carriers.
EverNorth may have arrangements with such firms under which it receives compensation. Any arrangement relevant to a recommendation made to you will be disclosed to you in writing at the time.
EverNorth is compensated in more than one way, and believes clients should be told so plainly rather than left to assume.
A flat fee for financial planning, agreed in writing before any work begins and paid by you directly. This is the core of the practice.
Where an insurance contract is put in place, the issuing carrier pays a commission, and may pay ongoing service compensation while the contract remains in force.
In connection with certain investment accounts, EverNorth may receive ongoing compensation, which in some cases is calculated as a percentage of the assets in those accounts.
Before you commit to anything, the compensation applying to that specific recommendation is disclosed to you in writing. If you would like the detail earlier than that, ask and it will be provided.
Financial planning involves assumptions about the future. No plan can guarantee a financial outcome, and any modelling shown to you illustrates the structure of a decision under stated assumptions rather than predicting a result.
Assumptions change, and so do tax rules, product terms and personal circumstances. That is the reason the plan is rebuilt annually rather than delivered once.
Raise it with Dave first, directly. Most things are resolved that way and quickly.
If you are not satisfied, the matter can be escalated to compliance at Ironshield Financial Planning. Complaints concerning life insurance in Ontario may also be directed to the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario.
This page describes EverNorth Wealth Advisory only. It does not describe the registration, licensing or compensation of any other firm.
